We were glad to host Luckson Sikananu, a budding reporter from Partners Guide magazine of Lusaka. Luckson has been in Stockholm after emerging winner of a journalism competition run by the Magazine and supported by the Embassy of Sweden in Lusaka.

On Wednesday, Luckson took time off his programme to call on Zambia’s Ambassador to Sweden, Her Excellency Ms. Rose Salukatula at the Embassy in Stockholm. The award-winning reporter took advantage of the meeting to conduct an interview which will be featured in the next issue of Partners Guide.

In the interview, Ambassador Salukatula touched on various activities which the embassy has been involved in and the plans that lie ahead.

Ambassador Salukatula shade light on the Zambia – Sweden Development Cooperation Strategy which runs from 2018 to 2022. Some of the highlights of the aims of the strategy are to contribute to reduced inequality, greater respect for human rights, democracy and the rule of law, and economic development that is inclusive and sustainable in terms of the environment and climate. The strategy has a financial commitment of 2, 250 million Swedish Kronor.

The Ambassador further talked of business and tourism seminars that were held recently pointing out that the activities have culminated into Swedish businesses expressing increased interest in Zambia. A delegation of about 15 Swedish business organisations has since been to Zambia to familiarise themselves with investment opportunities and the business environment.

These and more …in the next issue of Partners Guide magazine.
